No Place Like Home
Rollie recently had an MRI which has shown a smalll tumor in the right frontal lobe. He will be having Radiosurgery in Tucson to eradicate it. This is a an outpatient, non-invasive surgery were they "zap" the tumor with a very high, one time dosage of Xray radiation. After that they will be switching to a new chemo plan to keep everything at bay. Rollie still has a very good attitude and continues to play golf and enjoy the warm weather of Arizona. However, there is no place like home, so Rollie and Carol will be returning to Fraser in the early part of June. They want to thank all of the family and friends who have visited them recently, and mostly all of you who have kept him in your thoughts and prayers.

Rollie had an MRI last Thursday, a follow-up from the first one done back in October. After reading the MRI yesterday, the oncologist’s words were "Stable disease with no new areas". The words above can surely describe some qualities of Rollie, and many of these qualities, along with his continued positive outlook, appear to be helping to beat this thing. Since his platelets and white blood counts have always been in the normal range, he can forgo the blood tests usually done after each chemo round and he will not need to be seen again until April when they will do another MRI. Rollie will however continue with the double-dose of chemo which he takes the last five days of each month through the month of May.
We feel that this is all very positive news and the best that we can expect.
Thanks to everyone for your concern, and continued prayers,

We Are All In This Together
Rollie has just completed his second round of "double-dose" chemo and is doing very well. A follow-up MRI is scheduled for February 17th. Rollie is more concerned about others than himself at this point, and requested that this "Post" asks that not only do you think about his well being, but that you also know that a young child, Myles Krick, and a good friend, Doug White, are also facing similar battles right now. Rollie has asked that you channel your thoughts and prayers not only to his situation, but to please keep these two also in your prayers each day.

Rollie and Carol have arrived in Green Valley, Arizona for the winter after a most enjoyable Christmas will all three families. Rollie started his second round of oral chemo on December 27th. The new regime is a double dose of chemo for five days, followed by a rest period for 23 days. This schedule will continue for the next six months. Carol says if she didn't know better, she would swear that Rollie was taking a placebo, as it did not even seem to affect him! He recently went out and hit some golf balls, and is looking forward to playing golf with Bill Fielder later this week. Bill is Rollie's golf course superintendent buddy from the Woodmoor Corporation back in the early 70's.
They will be meeting with their new oncologist at the Tucson VA next week. At the present time the next MRI is scheduled for the end of January or the first part of February, so please keep those prayers coming!
